After you’ve used the Add Media button and inserted your picture, click on your image and a toolbar appears.
By default your image has ‘No alignment‘ and will sit on the left side of your screen. Text does not wrap around the image.
If you start typing immediately after inserting the image, the text will appear to the right, aligned with the bottom of the image. This is because the image is sitting on the same line as the text.
To add an image between paragraphs, place your cursor in the correct position first.
Then click Add Media… select an image, fill out the Title and Alt Text and insert it into the post/page. The default option ‘No alignment’ will then look like this…

Images side by side.
To get images to appear side by side on the same line, add the images one after the other, next to each other. Make sure they all either have the left or right alignment selected. The images will need to be small enough so that they fit on one line, including any borders and margins.
