If you’ve already created content in a word processor such as Microsoft Word you can copy (Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) this into the Visual Editor. The Visual Editor tab is WYSIWYG; What You See Is What You Get.
It may not copy over the styling as you’d expect though (as you’re copying behind the scenes HTML codes too) and sometimes you end up with garbled text. If you use the Paste as text button then all special formatting and HTML tags will be removed. It’s often therefore easier to paste as plain text, then make your formatting changes using the toolbars available in the WordPress Visual Editor.
The ‘Paste as text’ button is a toggle button, i.e. it’s either off or on. The first time you click the button you will get a notification window:
Paste is now in plain text mode. Contents will now be pasted as plain text until you toggle this option off. If you’re looking to paste rich content from Microsoft Word, try turning this option off. The editor will clean up text pasted from Word automatically.
