What is To, CC & BCC in emails?
To: if it’s for their attention and action, each recipient on the To list will see the other email addresses and anyone also included in the CC list.
CC: (Carbon Copy) if you are sending interested parties a copy for their information – though they are not being directly addressed. Again all recipients listed here will see the email addresses included in the To and CC.
BCC: (Blind Carbon Copy) if you are sending a Copy and you don’t wish the other recipients to see that you sent it to this contact, i.e. email addresses will be hidden. Useful when a diverse range of contacts are being sent an email from you, miscellaneous contacts are unlikely to want their email shared with the larger group. Emails sent to BCC are hidden from ALL other recipients.
An email always has a “From” and a “To”, but may have any number of CC and/or BCC recipients.
