WordPress 4.3 update means you can utilise typing shortcuts in the Visual editor as an alternative to using the buttons available in the toolbar. This can help the flow of your writing as you won’t have to move your hands from the keyboard as you type.

If you create these formatting changes by mistake you can remove them immediately afterwards. Click the Undo button on the toolbar or use Ctrl+z or Esc. If you want to amend your formatting at a later time, then simply click on the text you want to alter and use the toolbar to toggle or change your options.
Note: if you can’t see the second row of toolbar editing icons then click the Toolbar Toggle ‘on’. (Hover over it with your mouse – a small tooltip will appear.)
